Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Joins Bi-Annual Operation Take-Back Day

Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp, Chief of Investigations John R. Speirs, Morris Plains Borough Police Chief Jason A. Kohn, Morris Township Police Chief John McGuinness, Morristown Bureau of Police Chief Peter Demnitz, Mountain Lakes Borough Police Chief Shawn Bennett and Randolph Township Police Chief David Stokoe announce that on Saturday, April 30, 2016, they will be hosting locations for the 11th annual Operation Take-Back Day Program.

Operation Take-Back is a national initiative that encourages individuals to turn in unused or expired prescriptions, controlled substances and over-the-counter medications for safe disposal.  The medication collection allows citizens to give their unused medications to law enforcement officials without releasing personal information.  After the event, law enforcement officials will dispose of the medications collected in an environmentally safe manner.

The National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications.

Operation Take-Back will be held in conjunction with the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office on Saturday, April 30, 2016, from 10:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. at the following four (4) locations:
