Today, the Morris County Prosecutors Office hosted a Northern New Jersey training program for over 150 law enforcement and public safety professionals at the Morris County Public Safety Training Academy in Parsippany. The program was presented by the New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness (NJOHSP), Federal Bureau of Investigation, and New Jersey State Police concerning several important topics including Domestic Terrorism, Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), Homegrown Violent Extremists, and current threat assessments.
Numerous local, state and federal law enforcement professionals and other public safety personnel received over 4 hours of critical instruction on issues of great concern. The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Homeland Security Unit personnel coordinated the program along with NJOHSP.
“Prosecutor Fredric Knapp delivered opening and welcome remarks for the briefing:
Knapp stated, “We are indebted to the NJOHSP for selecting Morris County for this critically important training. Law enforcement and the public must remain vigilant to the ongoing threat to public safety by violent and extremist groups.”
