Prosecutor Knapp Delivers Commencement Address for 92nd Morris County Basic Police Training Graduation

On May 30, 2019, the commencement ceremony of the 92nd Morris County Basic Police Training Class was held at the Birchwood Manor in Whippany, New Jersey. Morris County Prosecutor Fredric Knapp addressed the class of 67 graduates, who will be serving as law enforcement professionals in various capacities throughout New Jersey. Also providing remarks at the ceremony was President of the Morris County Police Chiefs Association and Butler Police Chief Chiro Chimento and Morris County Public Safety Academy Director Daniel Colucci.

Prosecutor Knapp’s remarks emphasized the importance of making the correct choices as a law enforcement officer, saying “You will face many challenges during your careers. Many times pressures will be put upon you from many directions. It may be easier to take a path which you know in your heart is not the right one. My advice is to stay with your heart and the training you have received and do what is right”. He also commended the graduates for their efforts in successfully completing the rigorous training offered at the academy and wished them well in their futures serving the public.

Following the ceremony, Prosecutor Knapp stated, “The 67 men and women who graduated here today received training from some of the best law enforcement instructors in the State. I am confident that they will serve their respective communities with distinction and honor”.
